General Info


- Paint the Streets is a Safe-for-Work Sk8 the Infinity Graffiti Themed Zine. This zine is a fan-made, split-profit project and with the help of a team of artists and writers, we will explore the nitty-gritty of street art, grunge aesthetics, and artistic expression.
- Contributors must be 16 or older to apply by the time that applications conclude on September 5th. Anyone found age-faking or lying by omission will be effectively removed from the project and their work will not be included in the zine.
- Adam will be welcome with the written and visual pieces for this zine.
- Gen and ship pieces will be welcome with the written and visual pieces for this zine. However, all ships must be between consenting adult characters; meaning that fictional characters who are canonically under the age of 18 must be aged up in your piece when paired with an older character.
- This is a strict anti-harassment zine. Any mods or contributors found to be participating in the harassment of others online (including, but not limited to, harassment over ships/headcanons/characters/etc) will be subject to removal from the zine.
- Slurs, racism, and homophobia will not be tolerated within our discord server or within our written and visual pieces.
- Mods and contributors will be required to join our Discord server in order to stay up to date on all important announcements and information regarding the project.
- Contributors will be required to communicate with mods via discord and meet certain check-ins and deadlines throughout the creation period.
- All work created for this project must be completely new and exclusively made for this zine.
- Works created for this zine may not be published or shared online during the creation period prior to receiving permission from the mod team. This includes WIPs, previews, and video streams outside of our discord server.
- Contributors maintain all rights to their own work and may sell their work separately for their own profits after the Paint The Streets project has concluded. Selling or redistribution of someone else's work is strictly prohibited.
CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES:Page Artists:
- Page artists will be required to make at least one full, single-page, full-color illustration.
- Artwork must be in CMYK color formatted, 300 DPI resolution.
- Detailed, decorative, and fun backgrounds are encouraged.
- A limited number of multi-page comics and spreads will be available and can be requested during the zine's creation period.
- Traditional art is welcome as long as creators have the ability to scan a high-quality image of the piece.
Merch Artists:
- Merch artists will be required to create at least 1-2 pieces, full-color merch pieces.
- Merch artists will be assigned their merch pieces by the mods after joining the server.
- Templates will be provided on the server for all merch pieces
- Artwork must be in CMYK color formatted, 300 DPI resolution.
Writers:
- Writers will be required to submit a story between 1.5k and 2.5k words (with a leeway limit of 100 words max) in a google document or word document. At the top of your piece, you will be asked to include the total word count and list tags as you would when publishing on AO3 (i.e. relationships, content warnings, slow burn, angst).
- Written pieces must be reviewed and beta’d our Writing and Beta Mods.
- There will be an editing phase in which your work may be corrected for simple details such as spelling, grammar, and punctuation by our Beta mod.
- Some R language will be allowed, but excessive swearing or explicit content will not be accepted.
- We would like to avoid pieces featuring things such as major character death, permanent injury, etc. We are aiming to create a happier, lighter atmosphere for this zine so if you are unsure about something you would like to include please be sure to ask a mod!

What is a Zine?
- A zine is a collection of works made by a small number of creators who collaborate and work together to create a collated book.
What is the theme for this zine?
- The theme of this zine will center around graffiti art, grunge aesthetics, and artistic expression in both written and visual forms!
How many contributors are you looking for?
- We are currently looking for approximately 30 page artists, 12 writers, and 6 merch artists. However, this number could change depending on the interest and number of applications we receive.
Will this be a SFW or NSFW zine?
- Paint the Streets will be SFW only zine.
Will this zine be physical or digital?
- If sales allow, we plan for this zine to be both physical and digital.
How old do contributors need to be?
- All contributors must be 16 or older by the time that applications close on September 5th.
Is this a for-profit or for charity zine?
- We intend to be a split-profit zine, meaning that profits will be split between our chosen charity and evenly amongst contributors provided we make enough to do so during the pre-order period.
- If we do not reach a certain number of sales during the pre-order period, 100% of what is left over after covering production costs will be donated to our chosen charity.
How will contributors be compensated?
- All contributors will be guaranteed a free copy of the PDF zine with digital merch.
- If we are able to meet our break-even costs, we aim to provide contributors with a free complimentary copy of our highest-tier zine bundle. However, in the event that we do not hit reach our breakeven costs, contributors will have the opportunity to purchase the zine and merch at production cost.
- In the event that we reach enough sales to split funds between our chosen charity and contributors, any additional funds will be split evenly amongst contributors.
- Please Note: Funds for contributors under the age of 18 will either be donated to our chosen charity or will require consent from parents or guardians and must be willing to provide their PayPal account to collect contributor funds due to PayPal’s terms and conditions.
Will there be merchandise created for the zine?
- Absolutely! We plan to include both digital and physical merch!
Will Adam be included?
- Absolutely! All characters that appear in Sk8 the Infinity are welcome within the written and visual works created for this zine.
Will shipping be included?
- Yes, both ship and gen pieces are welcome within the written and visual works created for this zine.
- Please Note: All ships must be between consenting adult characters; meaning that fictional characters who are canonically under the age of 18 must be aged up in your piece when paired with an older character.
Do I need previous zine experience to apply?- Nope! No zine experience is needed! Everyone is welcome to apply regardless of if this is their first zine or their twentieth!Will anything I ship outside of the zine affect my chances of being accepted?
- Nope! The mods believe in "Ship and Let Ship" meaning your ships will not have any effect on your application or on your chance to participate in the zine.
Can I apply if English isn't my first language?
- Of course! Although this zine will be developed and published in English, we encourage participants from all around the world to join!
Can I apply for more than one position?
- Yes, you can apply for multiple roles and can be accepted for more than one. However, applying for more does not guarantee that you will be accepted for more than one position.
Do I need to a sk8 piece to apply?
- No, applicants will not be required to have a sk8 piece in their application but it is strongly encouraged.
Will artists need to draw detailed backgrounds/settings?
- We strongly encourage artists to put the characters in interesting settings as long as it incorporates the overall theme of the zine. However, we will ask artists to provide a piece with a background on their application form.
Will traditional art be allowed?
- Absolutely! Tradition art will be allowed as long as you have a way to scan the piece at a high resolution.
